Sergeant Major Richard Andre Dickey is a native of Florida, enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1989 and attended the basic training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina and advanced individual training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, where he earned the MOS 13F (Fire Support Specialist).
His assignments have included: 4 -1st Field Artillery, Fort Polk, Louisiana; Foxtrot -Target Acquisition Battery, 26th Field Artillery, Camp Stanley, Korea; III CORP ARTILLERY, Fort Sill, Oklahoma; 2- 11 Field Artillery and 3-7th Field Artillery, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii; 3-18TH Field Artillery, Fort Sill, Oklahoma; 4BCT, 1st Armor Division; Senior Fire Support OC/T Camp Shelby, Mississippi; 101st Aviation BDE “Wings of Destiny”, 101st ABN (AASLT), Fort Campbell, Kentucky; Deputy Commandant, Fort Bliss NCO Academy, Fort Bliss, Texas; First Sergeant, 2-3 Field Artillery, 1SBCT, 1AD.

As a Sergeant Major, SGM Dickey has served as the Operations Sergeant Major at the United States Army Sergeant Major Academy Non-residence Course and the 210th Field Artillery BDE “Warrior Thunder”. His most recent assignment was with United States Forces Korea, Special Troops Battalion Command Sergeant Major.
Sergeant Major Dickey has deployed once to Iraq (Operation Iraqi Freedom) and once to Afghanistan (Operation Enduring Freedom). He has also deployed in support of humanitarian relief efforts.
Sergeant Major Dickey is a graduate of every US Army NCOES course, culminating in his graduation from the US Army Sergeants Major Academy, Class 064. He has attended numerous military schools and training courses including Air Assault School, Observer Controller/ Trainer Academy, Basic Instructor Course, Joint Firepower and Control Course, Master Resilience Trainers Course, Battle Staff, Air Lift and Operations Course, the Army Combatives course and the Anti-Terrorism Officer Course.
His military decorations include the Bronze star medal (1 OLC), the Meritorious Service Medal (4 OLC), the Army Commendation Medal (6 OLC), the Army Achievement Medal (6 OLC), Good Conduct Medal (9th Award), the Army Superior Unit Award, the Overseas Service Medal (numeral 4), the Air Assault Badge, and various other awards. He is a proud member of the prestigious Sergeant Audie Murphy Club. He is also a recipient of the Saint Barbara Medal and the German Shutzenschnur Proficiency Badge.
Sergeant Major Dickey is married and has three children.
