Sergeant Major Adam Nin

Operations Sergeant Major

SGM Adam Nin is a native of Orlando, Florida. He enlisted in the Army in April 2004 as a Cannon Crewmember. He attended One Station Unit Training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. SGM Nin has served in every leadership position from Gunner to Operations Sergeant Major.

SGM Nin currently serves as the Senior Enlisted Leader of the 19th Battlefield Coordination Detachment at Ramstein Airbase Germany. His previous assignments include Operations Sergeant Major 56th Field Artillery Command, Sergeants Major Academy, Senior Military Science Instructor Oregon State University, First Sergeant 1st Battalion, 37th Field Artillery Regiment, Observer Coach Trainer 3rd Battalion, 358th Field Artillery, Platoon Sergeant 2nd Battalion 17th Field Artillery, and Platoon Sergeant 1st Battalion, 377th Field Artillery Regiment. His operational deployments include three deployments to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) III, OIF VII-VIII, and OIF X/New Dawn.

SGM Nin’s military education includes Basic Leader Course, Unit Movement Officer Course, Advanced Leader Course, Combatives Level 1, Unit Prevention Leader Course, Combatives Level 2, Air Assault, Senior Leaders Course, Field Artillery Master Gunners Course, Observer Controller Academy, Common Faculty Development Instructor Course, Senior ROTC Pre-Command Course, and the Sergeants Major Academy. His civilian education includes a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Maryland University College and a Masters of Business Administration in Corporate Finance from Oregon State University.

SGM Nin’s awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal with two oak leaf clusters, the Army Commendation Medal with V Device, the Army Commendation Medal with six oak leaf clusters, the Army Achievement Medal with six oak leaf clusters, Army Good Conduct Medal (8th award), National Defense Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal with three bronze stars, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary and Service Medals, Air Assault Badge, Master Gunner Identification Badge, and Basic Army Instructor Badge.

SGM Nin is married with one child.
